All The Way (2016 US) Bryan Cranston and Anthony Mackie star as LBJ and MLK respectively and depicts events from the assassination of JFK to the passing of the Civil Rights Act. Bryan Cranston does a great job as usual as the complex Lyndon B Johnson in a chaotic era in American history. Anthony Mackie is also stellar as usual as Martin Luther King. Basically the movie revolved around the performances of these two men. They are very engaging. I can’t say how accurate the history is portrayed but I enjoyed it. Critics liked it too because it was nominated for many awards.
Fun Fact: I was at the Biltmore hotel in Los Angeles where the Democratic National Convention was held in 1960. I stood in the hallway at the exact spot where JFK made a deal with LBJ for VP. I was actually surprised how small the main hall was. We see Conventions now and they are held in a big stadiums with thousands attending. My guess was about 300 people were in that room, not counting the taxidermized deer and bears. It was pretty amazing. If you get a chance when you are in LA take a look at the Biltmore.
